Sfakia Sea Cave - Skiadaki

Besides the countless beaches, there are also numerous sea caves that one can visit in the Asterousia area.

The sea cave of Sfakia is not an ordinary cave, however, as it has several entrances, offering swimmers the opportunity to explore different routes, all of which lead to the central area of the cave. There, the lack of lighting and natural processes have created a cinematic effect of vivid colors and fairy-tale images.

At a very short distance is the beach of kiadaki at the exit of the kakoperatos gorge and as its name (small shade) indicates, it is a shady place to enjoy a swim, under the high and towering rocks.
